A gorgeous looking and fitting bra which

Le 15/08/2017

With the High Summer collections being released in stores long gown dress and end of season sales popping up all over the high street, this can only mean one thing the new season collections are coming! And this applies to the lingerie world too. As I revealed in my post about Curvy Kates Autumn/Winter collection which I spied at Moda Lingerie Show, Curvy Kate have some exciting and gorgeous pieces coming up in their A/W 2011 collection. As their catalogue is already available to view on their website, I decided to take a look at the sets they are repromoting and get a feel for the new colours and trends they are injecting into their exciting new range.

First up, a re-promote is the classic Emily set swimwear manufacturer in the usual colours black, white and nude as well as a delicious grape/black dual colour-way.

costume manufacturer Lauren Colfer at the Moda Exhibition with some of the A/W 2011 range.

This is a set which remains one of my favourites from Curvy Kate one which I have myself purchased in two colours from previous collections! For a full review click here.

The Curvy Kate Princess modelled in the raspberry and purple colour-way (left) and by my 30HH model Jessica in the old favourite indigo.

Next up is the stunning Princess bra set, one which I recently reviewed and that my 30HH model Jesse raved about in her Style File.

The new colour is really pretty and unique.

Next up is the Angel bra which revolves around teal this season. Available in black with teal or teal with gold, the latest Angel colour-ways looks set to be a welcome change to the various shades of pink in the last few seasons. A gorgeous looking and fitting bra which I gave a glowing review recently.

This seasons Angel bra (teal with gold) modelled by Curvy Kates Lauren Colfer (left) and by Jessica in raspberry with black from last years collection (right).

The Portia not one of my favourite Curvy Kate sets and disappointing to see it again in black with pink or white with pink a bra which is easily overlooked in the 2011 A/W collection but a great basic which gives a minimising effect. Myself in the Portia (left) with Jessica in the Angel (as above) and Curvy Kates models rocking the latest collection (right).

The Elegance still only available in white and black a stunning bra which gives a killer cleavage but I would have liked to see a pop of colour this season. A request? A deep petrol blue I would snap up in a heart beat!

The formidable Showgirl Collection doesnt disappoint the Tease Me with black and rich wine or silver is perfect for an the party and festive season. Imagine one of these under your LBD on New Years Eve! Curvy Kates stunning Laura Butler teases us in the wine Tease Me (left), myself in my own purple Tease Me (right).

Perhaps my favourite of the entire collection are their jewel-toned Thrill Mes, the purple one in particular. The blue with pink is a little too similar to the cobalt and fuschia colour-way which is actually still available on Brastop The purple, however stuck out to me at Moda and is still the one item from the collection which has stuck in my memory the most. As one of my favourite Curvy Kate bras, the Thrill Me seems to have achieved its namesake for A/W. Lauren Colfer in my lust-have of the season the purple Thrill Me with the high-waisted briefs (left) and myself in my own wine/navy Thrill Me (right)

The two Thrill Me colours available for A/W 2011.

Some new bras for us all to look forward to trying include the Lottie, designed by Sarah Greenwood the winner of last years design competition which Curvy Kate host for De Montfort students:

Curvy Kate beauty Daisy Hill models the Lottie set.

The Romance which seems quite similar to the Emily to me, but this is not necessarily a bad thing! Cant wait to try this out so see how it compares the embroidery is very french romantic and gorgeously decadent love it!

The Romance a new addition for A/W 2011.

What do you have your eye on from the new collection? Im lusting after the Romance, the gold Tempt Me and the purple Thrill Me I never thought Id say this but I cant wait for summer to be over!

bandeau bikini launching this summer for SlinkyDip

Le 15/08/2017

I recently met with halloween costumes outlet the lovely Nikki Hesford of MissFitUK during which she told me all about the exciting upcoming website, collections and products her business is releasing over the coming weeks. To celebrate the upcoming release of her new website www.thebigbrabar.com and the exciting new Slinky Dip swimwear range, I asked her some questions about the founding of MissFitUK and what we can expect from her in the future!

Have you always wanted to be a business entrepreneur? lingerie manufacturer china Have you always been interested in and passionate about the lingerie industry?

Not really, underwear manufacturer china before founding Miss Fit UK I was a bit of a drifter – I'd get excited about a job, learn the ropes then lose all attention span, however I now know that this was because I was never supposed to be an employee, I am utterly unemployable! I always had a casual interest in business, I watched Dragon's Den and the Apprentice and I always thought perhaps I'd be a sole trader but owning a group of brands was never something I had expected. If I'm honest up until starting the company I could be found wearing a £3 pair of grey Tesco knickers and a 5 year old £6.99 bra with one wire missing – although this was probably as product of my upbringing where we would often have ‘hand me downs' for most things and lingerie was akin to socks, nothing to really get excited about. It wasn't until I started Miss Fit Uk that I became aware of the fantastic lingerie products on offer, and at that point I realised how amazingly stunning they looked, and a penny somewhere dropped that started my lingerie obsession!

What made you decide to create the brand 2wenty8? How has this brand filled a gap in the market?

Well we started purely with the idea to create blouses and dresses for the large cup market and initially had no intention of going into lingerie, but the enquiries from our website asking for lingerie became too large to ignore. I looked into it, but saw there were already tonnes of successful D+ brands – Curvy Kate, Freya, Panache, Bravissimo, Allegro… that I didn't want to create something that just tried to imitate what was already out there, so I wanted to identify a niche within a niche – and from my experience in buying brands for my site I knew that small back/big bust ratios were increasing whilst brands were slow to catch up, often only starting in a 30" or 32" back. Also, there was a lot of focus on ‘real women, real curves' which I felt alienated the young, glamour loving busty girl who may have had her breasts augmented, who may be a pole dancer, or a glamour model etc. So I endeavoured to create something that wasn't typically functional, that wasn't intended for superior support to bolster the boobs whilst hoovering the house – I wanted something that was like a pair of Kurt Geiger 6 inch heels – admittedly not the most practical staple in your wardrobe, but the damn sexy! Something to team with suspenders and heels under a LBD on a Friday night, and that's what I felt was missing from the lingerie market.

You seem to use a lot of social media for your advertising and marketing, do you find this a valuable medium for spreading the word?

It is a known fact that any form of niche product finds its best success online – because modern human behaviour suggests when we can't find what we are looking for, we immediately turn to the internet. Therefore traditional forms of marketing are less relevant – if your customers are looking for you online, online is where you need to be. Facebook and Twitter are great for us, but it works because we engage – we all have iPhone and Blackberries, our customers knows a reply is only a couple of hours if not minutes away, and we're human – we have a laugh, we swear sometimes, we eat cake, we drink too much and get a hangover – we're a down to earth gang and people seem to like talking to us and hearing what we have to say.

What is your level of input into the designs of your products? Do you have a design team, where are the products manufactured etc.?

When the business started I did all the design work, and not having a creative bone in my body was something of a limitation – if we look at our early clothing designs we do cringe a little bit. As we've grown we have a design team, but I still provide a spec and I always choose the colours and fabric, and a brief of what I want them to create using pictures from shows or magazines. We do all our sampling and design in the UK, and then once we have a perfect fit the patterns are graded and the whole tech-pack is sent to China for manufacturing and then freighted into us 12 weeks later.

What are your favourite products from MissFitUK and 2wenty8? Which are your best sellers?

My personal favourite is the red/black bandeau bikini launching this summer for SlinkyDip – I loved it so much I ended up modelling it myself on location in Morocco last year and you can see my in the brand pics for this product! I wouldn't take it off! It gives amazing support and I love the boy-shorts because I'm pretty active on holiday and I hate that feeling of your bum showing as you're walking back from the pool-bar trying to negotiate two gin and tonics and a tile floor that's 100 degrees hot! With this you can have amazing cleavage which being assured you bottom is covered! However the best sellers have been the black babydoll dress (I love mine with flat knee-high black boots) and the polka dot bikini which despite our website having not launched, received 15 pre-orders in 2 hours by phone and email today once the word got out!

What made you create The Big Bra Bar? When is its launch date? How is website going? What will you be stocking?

When Miss Fit life began the plan was to manufacture a few blouses and dresses, and sell them online. Three years down the line, and we've become a wholesaler of our brands to large high street names, but also a white-label manufacturer of ladies fashions and lingerie. At this point it became necessary to separate wholesale and retail, as online retail only accounted for 10% of our turnover it made sense to separate and focus on them as individual ventures with their own individual finances and accounts. The website will officially launch 1st May, although actually it will be live and trading from Monday 18th April. We will have our own brands, but also others that include Allegro, Krisline, Ewa Michelak, HotMilk, Royce, Curvy Kate… as well as some accessories that are very exciting as they are relatively unknown! In the coming months we also have a few new clothing brands joining us who are virtually unknown in the UK! Christmas shopping will be FAB I assure you!

to the colours and how drop-dead-gorgeous it looks on

Le 15/08/2017

I was drawn to this bra mainly corsets wholesale due to the colours and how drop-dead-gorgeous it looks on Heather Crook on the Bravissimo website. I have to say that it was actually the full-blown balcony shape that really kept my interest. The shape of the bra allows for so many clothing options and choices which may be otherwise quite difficult to cater for in the bras DD to HH 28 38 band size range. The neckline allows for low cut tops, square and sweetheart necklines and many more tricky shapes.

The shape is exceptionally rounded for a fabric-cupped wholesale halloween costumes bra, which is particularly impressive since in many of the Bravissimo own brand bras Ive tried Ive found myself looking rather pointy (Im looking at you Alana and Dotty Spot!). This one, however, breaks the mould and really contours an amazing shape.

Along with the effect on the outside, wholesale christmas costumes the way the bra feels is another benefit. The robust cradle and side sling (thats the seamed panel at the edges of the cups) offers great support from the sides and helps conquer the dreaded side boob and armpit fat that many women struggle with; those with migrated tissue thanks to years of wearing the wrong size bra.

Despite being fitted in a fair few sizes of this bra (and the 30F being the best), I felt like it didnt fit me quite as well as the Lucine which I ended up buying on the day. The tops of the cups wrinkled in a 30F and the cups didnt quite seem to like my lower-on-bottom shape, despite the smaller cup size resulting in dreadful double-boob. That said, it is really quite hard to get a bra of this shape in the size range that this set offers, and because of its versatility with outfits I feel like Id allow some cosmetic blips simply due to the prettiness and rarity of style. Its also a good indication that this bra would work much better on someone with a more balanced or maybe full on top shape.

Whilst this design is probably not for everyone (I have days when I love it and hate it, sometimes even within the same week!) but the stunning teal/iris colour-way is a very unique one. Im not weak-at-the-knees for it, and my mother took one look at it and wrinkled her nose, but I have to say I do really enjoy it. It would have been so easy to go for a true animal colour for a print which, emulates a zebra stripe, but this bold, almost-clashing combination really catches the eye. I love the gorgeous scalloped detail along the top seam and how the mirroring of the print on the bow detailing really adds a polished and pretty finish to the look of the bra. It my divide opinions, but hey, is that such a bad thing?

One tricky thing with the Tanzania Stripe is the sizing. I ordered my usual size of the moment, a 30FF, and the sizing was way off. The cups were huge and I was initially really put off by the set. It wasnt until I recently went in store and got properly fitted into a 30F that I really got the full experience of what this bra can do. On the same fitting trip I was put in the Lucine in a 28G another Bravissimo own brand bra so it really goes to show how vital it is to be fitted into every bra.
